A dead car battery can be frustrating, especially when you are in a rush. Luckily, our team at Langlade Ford in Antigo, WI has prepared a guide for you on how to charge your car battery.

First, turn off all electronics in your vehicle, such as the radio and interior lights. Locate your car battery’s negative and positive terminals. The positive terminal contains the “+” sign, while the negative terminal has the “-“ symbol.

Unplug your battery charger from the wall socket and switch off the socket. This ensures there is no current flowing through the charger.

Search online or check your manual on how long your battery should charge. Clip the positive cable (the red one) to the positive terminal and the negative cable (the black one) to the negative terminal. Set your charger’s timer and turn on the charger. Turn off the charger when the charging is complete and remove the charging cables.
